Shortcuts actions, dedicated hotkeys, and a settings backup file.

Drive Tuck from the Shortcuts app and Siri, record separate expand, collapse and Shelf search shortcuts, and move your entire setup to another Mac with one file.

Shortcuts actions

Tuck exposes five actions to the Shortcuts app: expand hidden icons, collapse hidden icons, toggle them, toggle Zen mode, and apply a Profile by name (case-insensitive). Chain them in shortcuts and automations, or run them from Siri.

Beside the existing toggle, Settings now records dedicated shortcuts for expand only, collapse only, and Shelf search. Conflicting combinations are detected and flagged as you record.

Settings export and import

Settings → General → Settings Backup exports your entire configuration as a single JSON file and imports it back. Tuck saves a backup of the current setup before every import and validates the file's format, version, and origin, with a clear error when something doesn't check out. Moving to a new Mac takes one file.

Triggers, Profiles, and Zen mode.

Show chosen icons automatically while a condition applies, save your entire setup as a named preset, and clear every third-party icon from the menu bar with one click.

Triggers (Pro)

Set a condition and Tuck shows chosen icons only while it applies: on battery power or while charging, below a battery threshold, when you join a specific Wi-Fi network or leave Wi-Fi, during daily time ranges (overnight included), or when an external display connects or disconnects. A trigger can show specific icons, open a Shelf group, or switch the active Profile. During system wake and display changes, trigger actions are deferred until the transition settles.

Profiles (Pro)

Save your entire icon rules, Shelf groups and ordering as named presets — Work, Presentation, anything — and switch with one click. A Trigger can switch profiles for you and Tuck returns to the previous setup when the condition ends; a manual switch always wins over an automatic revert.

Zen mode

One click hides every third-party menu bar icon; the clock, Control Center and other system items stay. Trigger it again to restore. Zen lives in the right-click menu and accepts a custom global shortcut, unset by default.

Organize hidden icons into named groups with their own sub-panels, search every hidden icon right from the Shelf, tune the Liquid Glass look with a live preview, and pin Settings and Lock buttons to the Shelf's edge.

Shelf groups (Pro)

Group hidden icons into named collections. Each group is one compact slot in the Shelf; click it to open a sub-panel with just that group's icons. Drag an icon onto a group slot to file it, right-click an icon to assign it, and rename, delete or reorder groups in Settings. Groups survive app restarts, and items whose names change keep their place.

Shelf search (Pro)

Start typing with the Shelf open — or press ⌘F, or click the magnifier — to filter every hidden icon, group members included. Move with the arrow keys and press Return to open the highlighted item.

A new slider tunes the Shelf's Liquid Glass from clearer to frostier, and a live preview card in Settings shows exactly what you will get before the panel ever opens.

Two optional buttons pin to the end of the Shelf: one opens Tuck Settings, one locks the Shelf so icons can't be rearranged by accident. Clicking icons keeps working while locked, and each button can be hidden in Settings.

On macOS 27, WhatCable opens from the Shelf when it is hidden, the three Shelf spacing options are easier to tell apart, and Rules shows the right icon for system items.

A Liquid Glass Shelf, and the option to show app icons.

New installs get a Liquid Glass Shelf. On macOS 27 you can choose to show each app's own icon in the Shelf instead of its menu bar icon, and Rules is easier to understand.

Liquid Glass Shelf style

The Shelf has a new Liquid Glass style: a pill-shaped panel built on Apple's Liquid Glass on macOS 26 and later, and a frosted blur on earlier systems. It is the default for new installs. If you already use Tuck, your Shelf looks exactly as it did.

App icons in the Shelf (macOS 27)

Under Settings, Menu Bar, Shelf icons, choose App icons to show each app's own icon, drawn larger than a menu bar icon, instead of the icon it puts in the menu bar. App icons do not need Screen Recording, work with Grayscale, and are available to everyone. Every Shelf style adjusts its height and spacing to fit them, and you can switch back at any time.

The Add Rule picker now reads "While this app is in front", with a short note that the choices apply only while that app is in front and that Default keeps Tuck's usual behavior. The description has an example, in all nine languages.

System menu bar spacing is back on macOS 27, with a restart prompt and wider options.

Pro users can change the spacing between menu bar icons on macOS 27 again. After you choose a spacing, Tuck offers to restart your menu bar apps so the change shows up right away, and two wider options join the list.

The icon spacing setting is available again on macOS 27. Apps read the spacing when they start, so a change shows up as apps reopen or after you sign in again.

After you choose a spacing, Tuck lists the apps that own a menu bar icon. Background apps are selected for you and apps with windows are left for you to choose. Pick Restart Selected, or Later to apply it the next time they open.

Recapturing Shelf icons briefly released the hidden icons and could repeat every few seconds while you used your Mac. It now waits until you have stopped, backs off after failures, and only runs for a Shelf you are looking at.

OneDrive rules stay matched after its status text changes.

This release fixes a case where an Always Show or Always Hide rule for OneDrive could silently stop applying after the icon's sync status text changed (for example "Syncing" to "Up to date"), leaving the icon in the wrong state even though Settings still showed the rule as active.

Tuck now keys OneDrive's menu bar identity off its stable window slot instead of its sync-status title, so a saved show/hide rule keeps matching the icon across sync status changes and relaunches.
