Is there a free version of Tuck?
Yes. Free includes Push Mode, Shelf Mode, per-icon show/hide control, the global ⌘⇧B shortcut, and launch at login. There is no time limit.
Is Tuck Pro a subscription?
No. Tuck Pro is a one-time purchase. It adds auto-hide, hover reveal, app-specific Rules Mode, advanced reveal gestures, custom Shelf styles and ordering, custom icon upload, and Shelf icon spacing.
What is the refund policy?

Privacy and permissions
Does Tuck collect data?
No telemetry, no analytics, and no tracking. Network requests are limited to license validation and Sparkle update checks.
Why does Tuck need Accessibility permission?
Accessibility permission is required to manage menu bar items. In the macOS 27 Compatibility Preview, Screen Recording is optional and is only used where Tuck needs to refresh visual menu bar previews.
Compatibility
Does Tuck support macOS 27 Beta?
Tuck 1.0.27 is available as an optional Compatibility Preview for macOS 27 Beta. Push and Shelf modes are working, but this is not yet stable macOS 27 support. Core macOS controls remain visible, items from the same app are managed together, and some menu bar items may not open directly from Shelf. Compatibility may change between macOS beta builds.

Which macOS versions are supported?
Stable Tuck releases support macOS 14 through macOS 26. macOS 27 Beta users can optionally install the separate Tuck 1.0.27 Compatibility Preview.
Does Tuck work with the MacBook notch?
Yes. Tuck supports notched MacBooks through Shelf Mode, which displays hidden menu bar icons in a panel below the menu bar.
Is Tuck a Bartender alternative?
Yes. Tuck focuses on the same core job: hide and organize macOS menu bar icons. The difference is a lightweight native app, zero telemetry, a free tier, and one-time Pro pricing. See the Bartender alternative page.
Updates and support
How are stable updates delivered?
Tuck uses Sparkle updates and publishes release notes on the release page. The stable channel remains on Tuck 1.0.28 for macOS 14–26.
How are macOS 27 Preview updates delivered?
Preview 2 and later use a separate signed Sparkle update feed. Preview 2 users receive Preview 3 automatically; Preview 1 users need to download Preview 3 manually once. Future Preview builds can then be installed through Tuck’s normal update checker. Stable users never receive Preview updates unless they manually install the Preview.
