Get started with Tuck in a few minutes.

This walkthrough covers the real first-run path: install the notarized DMG, grant Accessibility, hide icons with Push Mode, and learn where Pro controls live.

1. Install Tuck

  1. Download the current Tuck DMG.
  2. Open the DMG and move Tuck to Applications.
  3. Launch Tuck from Applications so macOS recognizes it as the installed app.

2. Grant Accessibility

Tuck needs Accessibility to manage menu bar behavior and respond to the global shortcut. The welcome screen has a dedicated Accessibility button; macOS opens System Settings so you can enable Tuck.

3. Try Push Mode

Once Accessibility is enabled, click the Tuck menu bar icon. Icons to the left of Tuck hide. Click again to restore them, or press ⌘⇧B from anywhere.

4. Choose what to refine later

Tuck Free includes Push Mode, Shelf Mode, per-icon show or hide, shortcut control, launch at login, auto-hide, and hover reveal. Pro adds app-specific Rules Mode, custom icons, and menu bar spacing and theme controls.

If you are on a notched MacBook, continue with Shelf Mode. If macOS permission prompts are confusing, read the permission guide.

5. Updates and troubleshooting

Use the app's update check when a new version is available. If Accessibility is enabled but Push Mode does not respond, quit and reopen Tuck, then revisit the Permissions guide.
